Plumbing Apprentice

We are hiring a plumbing apprentice to come join us in Austin, MN.

We are seeking a motivated Plumbing Apprentice to assist licensed plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial plumbing systems. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, follows instructions well, and is committed to becoming a licensed plumber.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in installing pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment

• Help diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems

• Prepare and clean job sites before and after work

• Carry and organize tools, materials, and supplies

• Follow blueprints and building codes as instructed

• Support experienced plumbers in maintenance and emergency repairs

• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used

• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods

• Basic math and measurement skills

• Willingness to learn and take direction

• Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in a plumbing apprenticeship program (if not already enrolled)

• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability

• Basic knowledge of tools and plumbing materials

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor work, sometimes in inclement weather

• May involve working evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Career Path:

This is an entry-level position that can lead to journeyman and master plumber certifications with successful completion of training, on-the-job hours, and licensing exams.
