About the role

The Public Works Department is seeking to fill a Facilities Operations Specialist with journeyperson level experience in plumbing. The individual selected for this position will participate in a full range of duties related to the maintenance of City facilities (flooring, drywall, carpentry, etc.) with a focus on plumbing work. 

The hours for this position are normally Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.. This position is represented by the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit and is eligible for a full benefits package. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in plumbing.

  • Four years of increasingly responsible experience in journeyperson level plumbing.

  • Experience and training equivalent at the amounts required for a Journeyperson or Washington State license in plumbing.

  • Possession of First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months.

  • Possession of Class A Commercial driver’s license, or ability to obtain within six months.

  • Possession of a valid flagging card or ability to obtain within six months.

  • Certificates issued by the state to operate as a plumber at a journeyperson level.
