Thumbtack is a San Francisco-based technology company founded in 2008. We connect homeowners with local service professionals through an online marketplace, helping people care for homes while helping independent businesses grow. We operate a technology platform rather than a plumbing contracting business.

What we do

We help homeowners find and hire local professionals for home maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Our platform brings homeowner guidance and professional hiring together in one app, while giving local service businesses a way to connect with prospective customers.

Our team works in a virtual-first environment with core collaboration hours from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. Pacific and in-person gatherings throughout the year. We expect teammates to take ownership of outcomes, raise problems early, and communicate clearly across locations and time zones. We encourage open feedback and support professional growth through coaching and development resources.
