Who we are

Ron the Sewer Rat is a locally owned and owner-operated Minnesota plumbing company serving the Twin Cities since 1972. We were founded by Ron Moey, passed to his son Leland (“Lee”) Moey in 2011, and since 2018 have been owned by longtime employees Peter Kroening and Mike Romig. Our office is at 875 Blue Gentian Road, Suite 900 in Eagan, and we remain focused on the honest work, fair pricing, and local reputation that built our name over more than 50 years.

What we do

Ron the Sewer Rat provides plumbing, drain cleaning, and sewer inspection services across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the greater Twin Cities metro. We specialize in sewer cleaning, sewer camera inspections, drain cleaning, and standard plumbing repairs, including water heater installation and replacement. Our published service lineup also includes mainline and small-drain cleaning, jetting, descaling, toilet auger service, pull-and-reset work, ground locating, and I&I inspections for cities with point-of-sale sewer requirements.

At Ron the Sewer Rat, we invest in full-time drain technicians rather than using contractors. Our team works with upgraded tools and equipment including advanced sewer cameras, diagnostic technology, and a modernized fleet built to handle a wider range of drain and sewer challenges. Our history also shows a hands-on, internal growth path: the current owners worked their way up in the company before taking ownership in 2018.
